How does a Smart Mail Locker work?
The delivery process is designed to be fast and simple. The courier or member of staff selects the recipient from the user list or scans the parcel barcode where recipient information is available.
The system then assigns an appropriate available locker. The parcel is placed inside, the door is closed and the recipient is automatically notified.
Identify recipient
Select the recipient from the user list or scan the parcel barcode.
Deposit parcel
The system assigns an available locker and opens the door.
Notify recipient
The recipient automatically receives notification that the parcel is ready.
Collect
After successful identification, the assigned locker opens.
Flexible identification and collection
Depending on the system configuration, Metra Delivery Lockers can support different identification methods for couriers and recipients.
Mobile credentials can also be stored in supported Apple Wallet, Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet environments on compatible smartphones and smartwatches.
This provides a modern contactless experience without necessarily requiring users to operate a dedicated locker application.
